Growing up means going camping, spending time with grandparents, hamburger nights, sleepover, and of course getting crazy drunk with your best friend in his basement. Really that's the only place to get drunk. You can't go to the bar or club or any other type of public area. I am bringing this up because of my encounter recently with two underage girls who have obtained fake I.D.'s
Having a fake i.d. is something that is not new. I'm sure some of you have had them. Me? No. Do I oppose? No. If you want a fake i.d. to buy some booze or smokes that's fine. That's your business not mine and you are not my child.
Using the fake i.d. to get into the bar because it seems so cool? Different story.
Now I am not being a prude but I am completely against this. And here is my reason. The bar is a place for adults. You are not an adult. I don't care if you drink all the time with your friends. The bar is a whole different ball game.
But Stanton X the girls are almost 18. No they are not. One just turned 17 and the other just turned 16. And these are not strong minded people. These girls are very immature and do not act as if they are over the legal drinking age. Like I said; if these girls want to get drunk do it on their own time at their own place.
They think that the bar is some place where people go to dance and have fun. Mostly yes this is true. But it is so much more then that. With these girls being so young it just freaks me out to think that they will most likely be hit on by men much MUCH older then them. And that is just gross.
I don't really like the bar. I never have. But when I do go, I don't want to be hanging around with a bunch of minors. I'm not allowed at a school dance am I? No. Nor would I ever want to go to something like that. If I want to hang with minors I'll go to a sporting event or an all ages concert.
Whatever. Kids will continue to do this and it can't really be stopped. But some advice for those girls... be careful and don't get really drunk. Not everyone is your friend.

stanton x, that's a very good point. There's enough chaos at the bar without drunken teenage drama. Plus they really don't know what there gonna get into, old drunk guys don't discern between 16 and 23 year olds. Reminds me of stories you hear about people being mugged in seedy areas at 3 am. I don't have a lot of sympathy for those people because honestly, in situations like that you should be expecting it.
