So I may be wrong on this but it is not the actual plant that gets you high but the stuff that is put into it. So they can legalize the plant all you want but if you go out and buy it at a store it may be just a waste of your money...especially since they will tax the hell out of it. So you can still get busted on owning the "real" drug. Or growing it for that matter.
Yes I'm pro for this. Or am I? At first this would be really sweet. Being able to buy different brands of dope at 7-11, if this is how they went about selling it. But the long term effects I think would prove drastic. I'm sure there would be an age restriction, but still minors would be buying it with fake ids and such. And of course if you made dope more accessible to retrieve then people more then likely would be buying more. Causing more debt and a more dumbed down society.
So now I am on the con side of the fence. I don't mind having to travel to some dealer's house and picking up a quarter or whatever. And I'm sure if the government legalized it, the cost of pot would sky rocket. Smoking dope is for a certain group of people...it's not for everyone. Whether or not they legalize it, people are still going to smoke it.
